I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Fern: senior yoga teacher, FEDANT-accredited Active Birth educator, pre- and postnatal movement specialist and mum to two beautiful boys.
My classes fuse modern movement science with the ancient wisdom of yoga, and it’s my mission to offer you nourishing, embodied and empowering practises that support your own path of self-enquiry, encouraging you to meet yourself where you’re at physically and mentally as you move through this transformative season of life.
'I wanted to say a big thank you for your online yoga studio. Being a working mum I’ve found it impossible to make scheduled classes, but your library has helped me get yoga back into my life, even if it’s at 9pm once I’ve finally got my kids to bed!’ - Ellie
‘I’ve just done your 25 minute lower back relief class and it was so lovely. A very intelligent sequence and just what I needed, thank you! It was so lovely to hear your voice too!’ - Tania
Hi, I'm Fern,
Senior yoga teacher, birth educator, pre- and postnatal movement specialist and mum of two beautiful boys (and our dog Polly).
Yoga and movement are a way of life for me: they bring me joy, purpose and support me through the ups and downs we all have to navigate. My practice has supported me through many highs and lows: from anxiety and depression; career changes (I was a journalist and editor for over a decade prior to making the switch to teaching yoga); knee surgeries and slipped discs; to pregnancy, postpartum and the rollercoaster that is parenthood.
I’ve been teaching yoga since 2015, and practising since my early twenties (I first stepped on the mat in a council gym in north London - I was working on a national newspaper at the time), and I’m passionate about anatomy and physiology, mental health and women’s health.
My passion for women's health runs deep: having suffered with both diastasis recti and pelvic organ prolapse after my first birth, I've dedicated the past 7 years of my career to pre- and postnatal movement, studying with amazing teachers and physiotherapists, and supporting hundreds of women both in my home city of Edinburgh and around the UK.
My classes fuse modern movement science with the ancient wisdom of yoga, and it’s my mission to offer you nourishing, embodied and empowering practises that support your own path of self-enquiry, encouraging you to meet yourself where you’re at physically and mentally.
Read on for how we can work together, and I hope to see you on the mat soon,
Fern
